The youth council (BSEYC) represents young people not only in the town centre but roughly 15 miles around it too, stretching to all the local villages where young people particularly either go to school in BSE or visit it as their main town. These villages include Thurston, Stanton, Ixworth, Great Whelnetham, Culford, Westley and allot more.

We follow the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the government papers for Every Child Matters.

Our members sit on a variety of outside groups and come from a cross section of the local community. It is completely free and open to join the youth council.
